Inter striker Stevan Jovetic admits ‘I’d hoped to score more goals’ and rates his season ‘5/10’.

The Montenegro international gave a lengthy interview to Corriere dello Sport today, during which he reviewed his performance in his debut Nerazzurri campaign.

“From 1-10 I’d give my season a five,” he said.

“I had hoped to score more goals. When I played it always went well and I even made the difference, but then I started to play intermittently and in these conditions it isn’t easy to be decisive in every match.

“In January the hardest period for me and the team started. In February I had some physical problems, just when we were losing ground in the table. Before that I hadn’t played because of technical choices.

“Mancini? I do what he says because he’s my Coach. It’s a normal relationship, like I’ve had with all the others.

“What happened with Mancini after the Lazio game in December? Nothing in particular. A thousand things were written, but the truth is that we were all nervous because we had the chance to run away in the standings and didn’t take advantage of it.

“There was anger in the changing room, but no insults or anything like that.

“At the Olimpico we went on the pitch in the wrong way, with the wrong approach, but I don’t know how to explain why. We conceded a goal at the start and were in trouble. We certainly didn’t play the match as Inter.”
