The Montenegrin hadn’t found the net since their 4-0 victory away to Udinese on December 12, but this evening bagged a brace in another 3-1 win over the Friulani.

“It was a difficult match today, because Udinese are stronger than they were last time we met in December.

“It’s also tough to overturn a trailing situation, but we did it and we are satisfied,” Jovetic told Mediaset Premium.

“I hadn’t played for a long while, but I am happy when I get to play, score or provide an assist.”

This success has consolidated Inter’s fourth position, as Fiorentina face Juventus tomorrow evening.

“The objective this season had been Champions League qualification, but the Europa League is an improvement compared to last year.”

President Erick Thohir was in the stands with representatives from the Suning Commerce Group, who are in the process of buying 20 per cent of the club.

“President Thohir told us to push, but we would’ve pushed anyway.”
