Stevan Jovetic says his injury was 'the hardest moment in my life' and won't back down from Inter's Scudetto campaign: 'We all want that'.

The Montenegrin ruptured his cruciate ligament in 2011 as he was playing for Fiorentina, missing on more than 40 matches of his career.

“That was the most difficult moment in my life,” he said, in the radio broadcast Inter Nos. “I learned a lot about myself and I grew up quickly. I learned who my true friends were and I read a lot of books.

“My number 10? It doesn't affect me, I've had many different numbers. When [Mateo] Kovacic left I took it, it was a pleasure. But we all have to do our own, we're all captains.”

Inevitably, Jovetic was asked whether he believed in Inter's chances to win the Scudetto.

“I always believed in it, as do all the others. Let's not talk about it now because it's early, but we all want it. I'm here to win.

“When we face a team, we prepare ourselves over the week with videos and analyses, so we can come to know our opponents.

“Sometimes they tell me something that's not entirely flattering, but I stay focused on myself. If I'm playing well, there's nothing that can hold me back.

“My objective is to score 20 goals, let's hope we can all score that many! But seriously, it's important to have many players capable of scoring. Juventus, in recent years, managed to win thanks to this among other things.”
