The Nerazzurri's Montenegrin striker joined the team from Manchester City amid mixed reactions, but he admits the Serie A team had always been after him.
“Aside from those rumours in 2007, which were probably just a case of them probing, the first concrete situations happened 2-3 years ago.
“As early as in my time in Florence, I'd say. There were talks involving Inter several times and I heard of them cyclically.
“Juventus? I never said I'd certainly be going to that team, and you know why? Because I wanted to test myself somewhere else.
“I decided I wanted to change, and the Premier League really fascinated me.”
The 25-year-old then discussed his spell at Manchester City, admitting he went through some troubled times.
“First of all I'd like to thank everyone, the supporters, the club, all of them.
“Including [Coach Manuel] Pellegrini. I want no polemics at all.
“If I cross him in the street I'll say hi to him, because it was a useful experience.
“I don't know why I didn't play and he never explained that to me.
“Once I asked him to let me play for three or four consecutive matches. It didn't happen, but amen.
“I didn't even play on the match right after I'd scored in the one before.
“The stories that I was always injured don't bother me or anger me too much, but this matter has to be clarified.
“I had some trouble at Manchester City, I can't deny that.
“But I wasn't playing when my condition was fine either, or even when I was in great form.
“Show me a player who never has an injury throughout the year.
“People are saying that Jovetic is always injured, but if it happens, then it happens as it does to anyone else. So enough with the talk.”
