Italian journalist Furio Fedele believes Napoli should look to Rasmus Højlund if they sell Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.

The Nigeria international scored a goal in Napoli’s 2-0 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday and is Serie A’s leading scorer with 18 goals in 19 appearances.

He’s been linked with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season, even if Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is confident of keeping the 24-year-old at the Stadio Maradona.

Osimhen has also spoken about the interest from top clubs around Europe saying that the club will decide on his future at the end of the season.

“Luciano Spalletti has made him work with one of his assistants and he has improved a lot,” Il Corriere dello Sport journalist Furio Fedele told TMW Radio.

“He can still improve and reach the same level as Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. If he receives a good offer, Napoli can sell him and buy Højlund.”

The Denmark international has taken Serie A by storm in his debut season in Italy’s top flight. He has scored six goals and two assists in 19 league matches and according to La Repubblica both Arsenal and Real Madrid have been scouting the 20-year-old and are preparing an offer for Atalanta in the summer.
