According to La Repubblica newspaper, Arsenal and Real Madrid are closely monitoring Atalanta starlet Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old has taken Serie A by storm with six goals and two assists in 19 league matches.
He joined La Dea for €17.2m from Strum Graz in August and Gazzetta claimed last week that he has already doubled his worth.
La Repubblica newspaper reports Arsenal and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the Denmark international and are considering signing him at the end of the season.
The Merengues will extend Karim Benzema’s contract, but Florentino Perez is looking for a long-time replacement for the former France international.
Arsenal have been monitoring the best talents in Europe and the 20-year-old is a prominent name in their agenda, according to the report.
Both clubs have been scouring the promising striker over the last few weeks. Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has compared Hojlund to Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
“Hojlund has this spirit, energy, intensity, but also technical quality that is just remarkable. He still has so much margin for improvement, too,” the Italian tactician said after a 2-0 win over Lazio on February 11.
“He has very similar characteristics to Haaland, not just his face. He is so quick, he’s under 11 seconds over 100m and that’s not even trying very hard.”
