The total cost the operation is €45m, although it’s likely to be spread out over two years as a €10m loan with mandatory clause to buy for €35m in 2017.

This will allow the Nerazzurri to get around Financial Fair Play parameters.

Joao Mario started Sporting’s match last night and, a few minutes from the end, was substituted to a standing ovation by the crowd.

It’s widely believed that was his final appearance for the club.

New Inter Coach Frank de Boer was also asked about the reports after last night’s 2-0 friendly win over Celtic.

“Joao Mario is a European champion and lots of big European clubs are tracking him. That shows that he’s quality.”
