Juan Manuel Iturbe said he’d been “waiting a long time” for his goal as Roma beat Lazio in the Derby.
The €20m signing from Hellas Verona had not found the net in Serie A since October, but opened the scoring in tonight’s 2-1 triumph.
“I am happy for the goal and had been waiting a long time, but it arrived at the right moment,” Iturbe told reporters.

“I am happy for the goal and had been waiting a long time, but it arrived at the right moment,” Iturbe told reporters.
“I am so happy, not just for me, but for the whole team who deserved this victory and never stopped believing.
“We knew that we were a strong team, but this year we had difficulties because of injuries. It was not my best season, but I think today I made up for it.
“The derby is always tough and we were facing a strong Lazio side, but had to honour the jersey. It was the only way we could approach it.”
