Roma sealed a 2-1 away win over Ajax in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals last night.

A late Roger Ibanez goal gave the Giallorossi an edge ahead of the second leg in Rome next week.

“We played with the heart and we fought until the end, taking an important result home and my second goal in Europe,” the defender wrote on Instagram.

“Let’s enjoy the victory, but from tomorrow we must focus on Bologna,” he added.

Both Jordan Veretout and Gianluca Mancini insisted the Amsterdam ArenA clash is only “the first round”, while Marash Kumbulla joked with Riccardo Calafiori.

The full-back was bemused after receiving a yellow card, seeing as the Ajax ball-boy had thrown the ball at his face in the final minutes of the game.

“Did you thank the ball boy?” the former Verona defender asked his teammate commenting on his Instagram post.
