Several pundits confirm Juventus should have been given a penalty in the final minutes of their Europa League meeting with Nantes last night: ‘It’s 100% handball.’

The Bianconeri were held to a 1-1 draw by the Ligue 1 side on Thursday but appealed for a late penalty kick for a handball of Corchia.

VAR called the referee to the touchline for an on-field review, but after examining the incident from various angles, the official opted for a free kick against Juve.

Juventus fans and players were furious, while Max Allegri refused to blame the referee in his post-match interviews.

DAZN referee pundit Luca Marelli believes the referee’s decision was wrong, saying that the handball was ‘evident’ and that he could not see the foul from Juventus defender Bremer.

CBS Sports also analysed the incident, with Charlie Davies and Nico Cantor agreeing that the Bianconeri should have been given a penalty.

“This is a handball, 100% and the VAR official in the booth thought the same thing.”

Juventus need a victory in France next week to qualify for the Europa League Round of 16 after last night’s 1-1 draw in Turin.
