Italy look set to change the transfer deadline from August 31 to September 2, finally matching the international schedule.

The Serie A incoming transfers have had to be concluded by 19.00 local time (18.00 in the UK) on August 31.

This meant no new arrivals could be agreed after that time, even though players could still be sold on the international market until September 2.

The situation is set to change, as the FIGC will meet next week and is likely to pass a rule levelling the playing field.

Already from this summer, the transfer window in Italy should close on September 2 at 23.00 local time (22.00 in the UK).

There will also be an extension on players who are free agents, as they should be able to sign for a new club up until February.

However, loans can still only be completed during the transfer sessions.
