There are eight peninsula-based players in the Slovenian squad for next week's Euro 2012 qualifier against Italy.

The two sides go head-to-head in Lubjana on Friday evening and Coach Matjaz Kek named his squad for the big game.

They include eight players who already ply their trade in the peninsula between Serie A, B and Lega Pro.

Palermo have three representatives: defender Sinisa Andelkovic, midfielder Armin Bacinovic and trequartista Josip Ilicic.

Italy currently lead Group C with 10 points from four games, while Slovenia are in second place on seven.
