The Italian Ministry of Health has confirmed that from Monday, the day after Italy’s game with Wales, anyone coming from the UK must quarantine for five days.

The Azzurri are due to complete Euro 2020 Group A fixtures on Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday at 17.00 UK time.

The supporters who are travelling for the match will need to rush straight back, because the new travel restrictions will be in place from Monday.

After that date, anyone travelling to Italy from the United Kingdom must quarantine for five days, a precaution introduced due to the growing number of Delta Variant COVID-19 cases.

This could be a big problem for England fans if they play one of their knockout games in Rome.

Italy are in the EU, so are signed up to the European Union Green Certificate scheme.

That means anyone can enter with evidence of full vaccination, documented recovery from COVID-19 within the last few months or a negative swab test performed within 48 hours of arrival in Italy.
