The Azzurri will resume their World Cup 2014 qualifying campaign this month with games against Armenia and Denmark.

Prandelli is set to name his party on Sunday evening and the Italian Under-21 international could be promoted from the Azzurrini set-up.

The forward won his first full cap in August’s 2-1 friendly loss to England and he could be set for a recall after five goals in the space of 10 days.

Italy Under-21 boss Devis Mangia admitted this week that his squad selection for their European Championship play-off against Sweden would be dictated by Prandelli’s picks.

Prandelli has deprived the Azzurrini of Mattia Destro, Lorenzo insigne, Fabio Borini and Marco Verratti in recent months.
