Torino chief Urbano Cairo wouldn’t be surprised to see Danilo D’Ambrosio break into the Italian national set-up.
The defender has been a revelation for the Granata so far this season following his use as a wing-back in boss Giampiero Ventura’s new 3-5-2 system.
And after scoring against Milan earlier in the season, the 25-year-old was also on target in the 2-1 win at Bologna.
“D’Ambrosio caught the eye for his goal, but not just for that,” Cairo stated to Tuttosport. “He did everything well, he really is a good player.
“How would the blue shirt of Italy look on him? Well, he would deserve it…”
D’Ambrosio, a former Italian Under-21 international, joined Toro in 2010 after spells at Potenza and Juve Stabia.
