Vincenzo Italiano says Fiorentina can ‘win many games’ and refuses to discuss Domenico Berardi’s possible move to the Artemio Franchi.

La Viola sealed a 2-1 win over Torino in their first home game of the season.

“Today the boys proved their commitment. After the Roma game, they understood that we could play with these rhythms, with quality and fury, creating many opportunities. I think it was a deserved victory, we wanted to do it in front of our fans,” Italiano told DAZN.

“Vlahovic is strong in everything, he has an exceptional culture of work and has incredible room for improvement. With this mentality, he can aim for big things.

“Pulgar had played well also in Rome, he is smart tactically, a true midfielder. Now Torreira has arrived, so there is competition in the middle of the park, I will have problems,” he said smiling.

“It’s better to have players with great quality, that’s what these fans deserve. What we do in games mirrors our weekly work and we can raise the bar,” Italiano continued.

“We can win many games with these performances, we hadn’t set a minimum target, but we must always be competitive. Maybe there had been too much talk in the past and we end up being disappointed, now we want to win as many games as possible.”

When asked if Domenico Berardi will join Fiorentina, Italiano replied briefly: “I prefer to speak about the players who are part of the team.”
