The annual encounter between the League champions and the Coppa Italia winners usually takes place at the start of the season.

However, finding time in the summer 2014 calendar wasn’t possible so the match has had to be delayed. The 1995-96 clash between Juventus and Parma was also postponed to January 17.

Both clubs also look set to give the thumbs up to playing the tie in Milan after the options of going to the UAE or Qatar were discounted.

Juventus have won the last two editions when they beat Napoli 4-2 in 2012 and Lazio 4-0 last year.

Milan are the only side in history to win the trophy on three consecutive occasions thanks to their triumphs in 1992, 1993 and 1994.
