Italian authorities are planning to bring the stadium capacity back to 75 per cent from next week, including the Champions League, while they could reach 100 per cent by March, the first time in two years.

The current limit on attendances in Italian stadiums is 50 per cent, already an improvement on the 5,000 allowed in during the later stages of January.

According to the latest reports, the authorities are discussing plans to bring it back to 75 per cent for Serie A Week 26 and 27 fixtures.

That would also affect the Champions League fixtures, meaning more tickets could be put on sale for the first leg games.

The season started at 75 per cent capacity and Italian arenas have never returned to full capacity since the original lockdown in March 2020.

However, after two years, the plan is to finally have full capacity Serie A stadiums from the beginning of March, which would be Week 28.

It is already mandatory for anyone entering the stadium to be fully vaccinated and wear a medical-grade mask at all times.

  1. Well overdue. Should have been at 75% from 1st February, 100% from 15th Feb.
Nothing scientific about the prolonged restrictions anywhere in Europe.
