Entering the new year, only one thing will be on Simone Inzaghi and Inter’s mind – winning the league title to earn their second Scudetto star.

Inzaghi’s first two years in charge of the Nerazzurri have been a success, guiding the team to two Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana titles. He also allowed the fans to dream when he took the club to the Champions League final last term, giving them a chance at European glory.

One thing has plainly illuded Inzaghi and Inter during his time at the helm, however – the Scudetto. In his first year in charge, the Nerazzurri finished an agonising two points behind rivals Milan, and in the second campaign they fell 18 points short of Napoli.

Entering 2024, things are looking different for Inter. They sit two points ahead of second place Juventus after 18 matches, hardly putting a foot wrong following their quietly impressive work in the summer transfer window.

Winning the Scudetto this term would also allow the Nerazzurri to use a second star on their kits, something that their inter-city rivals are still waiting to do, and so there’s no greater goal for Inzaghi’s side this season than lifting the league title in May.
