Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi admits he expected more from his side after they went behind to Milan.

The Biancocelesti had the better of the opening half on Tuesday at San Siro, but once Carlos Bacca had put the Rossoneri ahead they rarely looked like staging a comeback in the 2-0 defeat.

“In the first 38 minutes at San Siro until the goal, we were playing a good match,” Inzaghi said at a Press conference.

“We had the play and the possession in our hands. Milan had created very little.

“We need to react better, I was expecting more after the goal.”

The Stadio Olimpico boss did however declare himself satisfied with how his team is working on the training pitch, despite recent criticism of his defence.

“We have bought important players like Bastos and Wallace and De Vrij has recovered. For me, we are working well.

“We conceded a goal which was maybe in our hands to prevent. But I am happy with how the team is working.”

Finally, Inzaghi admitted Lazio will have to play well if they are to return to winning ways against Empoli on Sunday.

“We need to look forward, Empoli are an organised team that have been working together for years. We will need to play well.”
