“Unfortunately Jack won’t be there,” Coach Inzaghi told Milan Channel.

“He picked up a knock and there is no point risking him. In midfield I’ll evaluate what choices to make and today in training see who is in the best shape.

“There could well be a chance for Van Ginkel or Saponara to start. I have to find the right moment to introduce them.”

Torres has struggled at Milan, but Inzaghi maintains faith in the ex-Chelsea striker.

“Torres had this injury that stalled his progress, but he’s in good shape now. A striker tends to be evaluated only on his goals, but the truth is that he is giving a big helping hand to the rest of the team. I evaluate that too.

“Jeremy Menez shouldn’t worry or take on too much responsibility. He missed some training sessions and this is a very physical League, so he just lost a bit of sharpness.”
