Simone Inzaghi won’t hold back on Lazio ambition after they crushed Udinese 3-0 to go three points clear in third place. “Nobody expected this.”

The rescheduled Week 12 fixture was originally rained off in November, but by the time they met this evening, the Friulani had been on a seven-round unbeaten run.

“It was a very important match. Seeing the players step on to the field with this attitude is something to be really proud of,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The lads have done so well. We must try to continue, because we’ve got a seemingly interminable run of games coming up. I will have to choose the best options to keep everyone fresh.”

With Ciro Immobile injured and Felipe Caicedo not fully fit, Lazio started a new partnership of Felipe Anderson and Luis Nani.

“They did very well. In the first half, they were less visible, but did what I asked. Udinese are the kind of team you cannot take lightly and we deserved the victory.

“Lazio were a surprise for many people. We are up there now and they’re starting to talk about us a little more. At the start of the season, nobody expected this. Some said we’d finish in 10th place.

“It’ll be difficult to maintain this pace, but we’ll try to honour every tournament.”
