There’s bad news for Roma, as Juan Manuel Iturbe ruptured his ACL, meaning he won’t make the loan move to Club Tijuana permanent.

The 24-year-old winger had made the transfer in August with a deal worth €5m already agreed for the end of the season if he played a certain number of games.

The Paraguay international has played 17 times for Club Tijuana in all competition, without scoring a goal, but won’t be on the field again this term.

Iturbe has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, which requires five to six months on the sidelines.

This means he’s expected to return to Roma in June.

Iturbe has been a disastrous signing from Hellas Verona for €24.5m in July 2014, as he flopped at the Olimpico and on loan spells at Bournemouth, Torino and Club Tijuana.
