“It was a strong start and the lads were disappointed at half-time, because they’d done so well, but we know in football a four-minute blackout can be enough to concede two goals,” he told Rai Sport.
“During the break I told the players I was disappointed on their behalf, because they were a pleasure to watch and we didn’t deserve to be on 2-2.
“We were perfect for 40 minutes, but at least it’s something that we can learn from for the future.
“Filip Djordjevic hadn’t played for three months and had a great game, scoring a goal. He can still contribute a great deal to this squad. I think he can remain with us, as I saw him very much involved over the last couple of weeks, he deserved this chance and made the most of it.”
On Sunday Lazio are in Turin against Serie A leaders Juventus.
“We’ve got to applaud these lads, as at the start of the season nobody believed Lazio would put together 40 points and frankly deserve a few more.
“We are up there and have proved we belong there, even if there are sides who are better-equipped to challenge for those places.
“We’ve won five of the last six games, losing only to Inter despite an excellent first half. We know Juventus have the record for home wins in a row and have been dominating Serie A for five to six years, but we can only give it our best and see what happens.
“Aside from tactics, we’ll need the right interpretation of the game. I thought we had a good performance against Juventus in August and Sami Khedira punished us for an error.
“I beat Juventus as a player and would love to know what it feels like to beat them as a Coach too.”
