“We analysed the match against Milan in no time. It’ll be tough at Lecce, but we have to go game by game.

“We’ll see which players can give us guarantees to start the game. We still have a small training session, which I’ll use to grasp a better idea of their general condition.

“The game won’t at all be easy. Lecce are a team who play good football and Liverani’s both a great coach and friend of mine.

“They’re fighting for survival and they’re down there with so many other teams.

“Even at the Olimpico, they would’ve given us cause for concern.”
