Inter have reportedly decided to keep Federico Dimarco after he impressed coach Simone Inzaghi in pre-season.

The 23-year-old left-back is a product of their youth academy and a lifelong Nerazzurri supporter.

He has been on loan spells at Ascoli, Empoli, FC Sion, Parma and for the last 18 months Hellas Verona.

The idea was to send him out again this summer to gain playing time, with Roma among those interested, as well as a return to Verona.

However, Sky Sport Italia claim Dimarco has done enough in pre-season training to win over coach Inzaghi and earn a spot in the main squad.

Dimarco certainly made an impact at Verona, last term scoring five goals and providing six assists in 35 Serie A appearances.

He did so in a five-man midfield as a wing-back, which makes him even more suited to Inzaghi’s tactical set-up.

Dimarco and Ivan Perisic are therefore the options for Inter on the left wing for this season.
