Marco Parolo explains how Simone Inzaghi has given Lazio “freedom and a new energy” this season.

The Biancocelesti currently sit fourth in Serie A, with the Coach having been appointed permanently when Marcelo Bielsa refused to show up.

“I hope to restart where we left off with performances and important results,” Parolo told Premium Sport after the international break.

“I can’t wait to get back onto the pitch with the rest of the team, and the weekend’s match [against Genoa] will be crucial for us.

“I can’t wait to get back onto the pitch with the rest of the team, and the weekend’s match [against Genoa] will be crucial for us.

“Inzaghi? He’s given us freedom and a new energy. The Coach is open to dialogue and that allows us to follow him to the fullest.

“This team has potential and always did. We had to find the right key to start the season, the Coach was important in that regard.

“The Champions League? We can’t think that what we’ve done so far is enough, we have to work every day and never give up.

“That’s how you get to the end.”

Parolo is an Italian international, and was also asked about the Azzurri’s prospects under Giampiero Ventura.

“It’s normal that there might be some ups and downs, but I think all we’ve got wrong so far was the first half against Spain and a few minutes against Macedonia.

“The goal is the World Cup, we have to work well over the next few months.”
