Simone Inzaghi reassures Kristjan Asllani for his first Serie A start in the Inter shirt, expecting a ‘fascinating and beautiful game’ against Roma.

It kicked off at San Siro at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

You can follow all the action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

Both sides went into the break for international duty with Serie A defeats, so this is a real head-to-head in order to stay in the title race.

“We had the last two days together, the team is concentrated and aware this is a very important game for us,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

Kristjan Asllani gets his first start in the Inter jersey, as Marcelo Brozovic is both suspended and picked up an injury on international duty for Croatia.

“He works hard, has great quality, so he has no need to worry, he just has to focus on playing the way he knows how.”

Considering how dangerous Jose Mourinho’s side are on the counter-attack, will Inter take a slightly different defensive approach to this game?

“We know of Roma’s characteristics, they have excellent players on the counter-attack, but can also play the ball and have different approaches.

“It’s going to be a fascinating and beautiful game, one I hope to win.”

  1. Until Inzaghi learned his mistake by not playing Onana, may Inter always lose. The 38 years old Handanovic has always conceded more than one goals per game.

  2. Agreed, Onana deserves an opportunity.

We need damn defense, Inzaghi get back to basics with a 4 man defense please.

Counters are our weak point along with man to man marking.

I like the young players that played today, maybe give them more playing time since fatigue is such a issue.
