Simone Inzaghi says he is dreaming of one day becoming Coach of Lazio’s first team.

The 38-year-old, who is the brother of former Milan striker Pippo Inzaghi, played for the Biancocelesti for 11 years and is now the boss of the club’s Primavera team.

Speaking to reporters today, the ex-forward also said he believes a lot of the Rome side’s youth team are ready for a gradual introduction into the senior outfit.

“I dream of one day coaching Lazio in Serie A,” Inzaghi said. “For me it really is a big dream.

“I have been here for 15 years, I have had two children in Rome and I am proud to be a Laziale.

“President Lotito and Tare gave me the opportunity to coach the Primavera team and if one day I get the chance to move to the first team, I would be proud.

“The players most ready for the step up from the Primavera are Minala, Tounkara, Filippini, Crecco and Lombardi.

“A lot of them are ready and I hope they are brought into the first team little by little. Italian football needs them.

“Destro? I have congratulated him, with him and Immobile Italy are set.”
