Pippo Inzaghi is almost certain to end his Milan career this summer, but as his brother confirms, not his playing career.

Inzaghi, who will be 39 by the start of next season, has barely featured for the Rossoneri this season, having struggled for fitness and then to convince Coach Massimiliano Allegri of more playing time.

With Pippo set to leave the club this summer, his brother Simone, a retired striker and now Coach of the youth team at Lazio, has revealed that this doesn’t spell the end of his playing career.

“Pippo has made history with Milan and is genuinely impacted by his departure,” reflected Simone Inzaghi to Tuttomercatoweb.

“He is grateful to the Rossoneri for what they have done, but I think there is also gratitude from the club and the fans for him too.

“Pippo is still physically fit and knows he can play on for a couple more years. Managed in the right way he can still give so much to football.

“This year he had expected to play a bit more, but saying that, he was recovering from a very bad injury.

“He’s not decided on his future yet, but he is aware that he can still give so much to the game.”
