Simone Inzaghi described Lazio’s 1-1 draw with Bologna as ‘a cursed match’ after his side wasted numerous chances to win.

The Biancocelesti dominated for long spells at Stadio Olimpico but were continually thwarted by Rossoblu goalkeeper Angelo Da Costa’s superb performance. They needed a controversial 96th minute Ciro Immobile penalty to salvage a point.

“It was a cursed match, so much so that I’d never seen one like it!” Inzaghi said post-match.

“Luckily we managed to equalise through a fortunate penalty. Now we will take this small satisfaction, but it is definitely two points lost.

“I am glad that we managed to get the draw, but there is regret because we deserved the win. We are a young team with ample room for improvement.

“I am proud of my boys and I am pleased to have seen them unhappy in the dressing room because they know they lost a change to go second.

“But this is football and sometimes these things happen.”
