Milan Coach Filippo Inzaghi says his side are at Chievo to win tomorrow night, and defends Mattia Destro.

The Rossoneri are currently ninth in Serie A, but picked up only their second win of 2015 last weekend against Cesena, and the tactician wants to see his side build on that.

“We saw a little bit on Sunday,” Inzaghi told reporters in his pre-match Press conference.

“We’re starting to get players back, and from here I think we can start to do well again. It’s pointless to give deadlines, what we need are consistent results and performances.

“I can’t say when we’ll get back to completing for the Scudetto, but when you have a club like this, sooner or later you’ll get back to winnning.

“It’s clear that in order to get that consistency in our results, it’s critical to win [at Chievo].

“We go to Verona looking to take home three points, but with great respect for our opponents.

“They’re a difficult team for anyone to face. They work very hard, and counter-attack very well. [Rolando] Maran is a great Coach. We know the problems they can cause, but we’re ready to play a great game.

“Chievo, two weeks ago, played excellently against Sampdoria, but we’re in an ideal condition to win.”

Inzaghi also defended the form of striker Mattia Destro, who was substituted after only 63 minutes of the Cesena game, without scoring.

“I don’t see any problems. I tell him to play freely and be in the box for crosses. I’m happy with what he’s doing and what [Giampaolo] Pazzini is doing.

“I don’t think Mattia should be judged on Sunday’s game. He must be decisive both in front of goal and not to help the team. We expect so much from him, but it’s not easy to score a goal every game.

“He played a normal game against Cesena, then I put Pazzini on. But Destro didn’t have a bad game.”
