Agent Tullio Tinti is at the Inter headquarters this afternoon, fuelling reports the club is in negotiations with Simone Inzaghi to replace Antonio Conte.

Tinti also has Nerazzurri defender Alessandro Bastoni as his client and has been discussing a contract extension.

However, it inevitably raised eyebrows considering the multiple reports over the last few hours that Inzaghi is the favourite to take over should Conte walk away.

Sky Sport Italia are among those confident Conte will not accept the downscaled Inter ambitions, which require player sales worth at least €70m and a 20 per cent cut to wages.

They need to negotiate a termination of the existing contract, with newspaper Libero claiming it will include a clause barring Conte from taking another Serie A job in the near future.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi is set to meet Lazio President Claudio Lotito and director Igli Tare today to discuss his long-delayed contract extension.

Inter seem to have pin-pointed the tactician as the ideal heir to Conte, especially as they both use the 3-5-2 formation.
