Antonio Conte is negotiating the termination of his Inter contract by mutual consent, which should eventually cost the Nerazzurri €6.5m-9m.

Reports are growing from several sources close to the club that the experience with Conte is already over after two years, despite winning the Scudetto.

The desire to reduce costs and bring in extra revenue, selling at least one big player to raise funds, does not sit with Conte, who is only prepared to remain for a more prestigious project.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the issue now is finding a way to separate with a year to run on his €12m per year contract that won’t cost either of them too much.

Inter cannot fire him, nor has Conte any intention of resigning, so negotiating a termination by mutual consent is the only option.

TMW maintain the club is offering €6.5m to break it off early, whereas the coach wants €9m.

There could also be a clause in the agreement barring Conte from signing for another Serie A club in the near future.
