There is “a lot of interest” in buying up Parma from a bankruptcy tribunal, said ex-President Fabio Giordano.

Giordano was the lawyer who helped oversee the passage of the club from Tommaso Ghirardi to Rezart Taci and temporarily acted as President while the Albanian businessman tried to keep his identity secret.

“I can confirm there is a lot of interest, there are various groups who we are sounding out, and there is focus on Parma,” Giordano told Radio Parma.

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio said that an American investment group had approached them.

“I expect the Federation is working to present someone truly reliable who can collaborate with the sporting institutions.

“There are groups interested in doing this autonomously, but others want to collaborate with local businessmen.

“We are continuing our work as advisors, even if we are in a stand-by situation. Compared to the past we want facts and not just promises.”

There will be a bankruptcy tribunal on March 19, when current President Giampietro Manenti is expected to lose control of the club.

Parma would then be put into controlled administration and new buyers sought.
