Bayern Munich have warned that any bid from Inter for Arturo Vidal would be “pointless” as the midfielder is “100 percent” staying put.

Reports over the past week have linked Inter with a €50m swoop for Vidal, but CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge – a former Nerazzurri player – categorically ruled out selling the former Juventus star.

“I can rule out the departure of Arturo 100 percent. He’s a crucial player for us,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I haven’t heard from anyone at Inter until now, I’ve only read what’s been written.

“Any Nerazzurri bid would be pointless, regardless. The decision to stick with Vidal was made a long time ago.

“Spalletti? I haven’t seen him for so long, but they made a great choice with Spalletti. I’ve got to know him and I really like him.

“I hope Inter return to Europe as soon as possible because a club like them must play on certain stages.

“Inter compared to their Serie A rivals? We have to wait, there’s still a lot of the market remaining.

We still don’t know what the other teams will do. But the important thing is this: to have strong players.

“The philosophy must also be equally clear and every decision must be made in line with their Coach. We’d never buy without Ancelotti’s ‘OK’.

“Still, Forza Inter!”
