Giovanni Fabbian has emerged as a rising star in Thiago Motta’s Bologna squad this term and Inter are serious about bringing back the talented midfielder.

The Italian talent joined the Nerazzurri’s youth system from Padova back in July 2018 for around €190,000, spending five years attached to the club before he was sold to the Rossoblu last summer for around €5m.

Things started slowly for Fabbian at Bologna, making just two starts across the first 15 Serie A matches of the season, but since Christmas he’s become a first team regular under Thiago Motta, scoring four goals and providing two assists across his 18 league games this term.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Inter have been keeping a close eye on Fabbian’s development at Bologna this season and are now serious about bringing him back in the near future, holding a €12m buy-back clause.

The Nerazzurri aren’t in a rush for the time being, protected by their buy-back clause, and are keen for him to continue his growth in Emilia-Romagna before taking him back to Appiano Gentile.
