A group of Inter ultras put up a banner in the streets of Rome insulting striker Romelu Lukaku following his turbulent summer.

The 30-year-old Belgian striker initially seemed destined to join the Nerazzurri at the start of the summer following last season’s loan spell, and the club worked hard to negotiate a deal with Chelsea, who had no desire to bring him back to West London.

After weeks of talks, steps were seemingly being taken, until Inter discovered that Lukaku had secretly been in talks with Juventus, pushing them to give up and focus on other targets. The Bianconeri then worked on a deal but progress was slow due to their financial limitations.

Eventually, Lukaku gave up on waiting for Juventus and expressed a willingness to join Roma, finally leaving Chelsea on a loan deal with no permanence clause.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, a banner appeared in the streets of Rome today, put up by a group of Inter ultras, insulting Lukaku, calling him ‘disgraceful/horrible’.
