Inter are reportedly ready to start talks with Atalanta for €60m-rated Duvan Zapata, including Matteo Politano in exchange, as an alternative to Romelu Lukaku.

According to FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri have moved on to a different target after Juventus entered advanced negotiations with Manchester United for their first choice.

Duvan Zapata has a similar physical structure to Lukaku, but the Colombian has more pace and plenty of Serie A experience at Napoli, Udinese, Sampdoria and Atalanta.

The 28-year-old had his most prolific campaign in 2018-19, scoring 28 goals with eight assists in 48 competitive games.

He was a key part of the team that beat Inter to third place in Serie A and reached the Coppa Italia Final.

It’s reported Atalanta would be prepared to listen for a €60m proposal, especially if Inter included Politano as part of the deal.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is believed to be an admirer of Italy international winger Politano.

Meanwhile, Tuttomercatoweb suggest Inter told Mauro Icardi he will be left out of the squad list for both Serie A and the Champions League, but is still refusing to accept a transfer.
