Inter have a decision to make over the treatment of the lateral meniscus injury sustained by Gary Medel in the Milan derby on Sunday.

The club confirmed the diagnosis on Monday, and according to Tuttosport, there are two treatment options available.

A more conservative therapy would allow the Chilean to return in around three weeks, but there would undoubtedly be a risk of recurrence in this plan of action.

Whilst surgery would remove the lesion completely, the 29-year-old would remain unavailable until at least the match with Udinese on January 8th.

It is thought that the Nerazzurri will go for the arthroscopic surgery option, but a final decision will be made in the coming days.
