Sassuolo Coach Roberto De Zerbi believes “Inter are the real anti-Juventus”, despite his side beating them on Sunday night.

The Nerazzurri have lost seven of their last eight meetings with the Emilian side, including a 1-0 defeat in their first match of the Serie A season.

“It’s football in August, you can’t read too much into some results,” De Zerbi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Despite the defeat against my team, I’m still convinced Inter are the real anti-Juventus. The Nerazzurri have something more than Napoli or Roma.

“Their weaknesses? It’s impossible to know where the merits of a team end and where the demerits of the other begin.

“There are certain opponents we can only beat if they don’t play a great game. We played at a high level even if we could have done better, using the ball more in their half to try and take the sting out of the game.

“We hadn’t prepared anything special to stop them, we studied their movements and we knew that in the defensive phase they’d play a certain way.

“With possession of the ball they go to a back-three, with [Marcelo] Brozovic as the playmaker and [Kwadwo] Asamoah as mezzala.

“Sassuolo were effective in organising the game and always manoeuvring at high speed.”
