Inter are keen to make a loan move for Rodrigo De Paul, whose start at Atletico Madrid has been a little underwhelming.

The 27-year-old Argentinian midfielder joined Diego Simeone’s side from Udinese last summer in a deal worth around €35m. He signed a five-year contract and expectations were high, but things have been a little disappointing in Spain this season.

As detailed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, two weeks ago Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to De Paul’s entourage to sound out a possible deal, keen to bring the Argentinian to the Lombardy capital in the summer.

It’s likely that Inter would pursue a loan deal, possibly even with no buy option attached, as their financial limitations restrict their flexibility. The player himself would be happy to return to Italy.

The 27-year-old De Paul has made 43 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2676 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided two assists.
