Inter consider the launch of their $INTER fan tokens to be a huge success after they sold all one million of them for €2m.

Socios.com announced that the 1,000,000 fan tokens have all been snapped up by supporters at a cost of €2 each.

They were put on sale as part of the FTO (Fan Token Offering) this afternoon and went in a matter of minutes.

This is part of the Socios sponsorship deal with Inter this season, which has the logo on match jerseys.

Fan Tokens are collectable digital resources that give supporters the right to vote in polls, receive exclusive promotions and VIP access to certain content.

10 thought on “Inter sell all one million Fan Tokens”
  1. It’s a very interesting concept. You pay to be able to have your say. I don’t think any decisions made in these socios polls will have any bearing on the real world, but if for argument sake fans of inter were asked to choose between Raspadori or Belotti next year as the main transfer, and they chose Raspadori, would inter feel more inclined to go down that option? The fans pay for it, so are the fans technically funding the transfer campaign? What if inter said, you buy they tokens and we’ll buy Messi! We need to raise £40m, you buy, we pay….could be the way football transfers go no?!

Just to point out where I sit on transfers, I would prefer all salaries to be capped across Europe. Each top flight league/team gets the same cap, regardless of division or league. No player can move until their contract is up, and when they do leave it’s always on a free transfer. Sustainable with the future in mind

  2. Yes, terrible that. Fans being conned into spending €2 on their club in such a way. Football needs to be saved again……., now where is that PSG President guy.

  3. It’s just going to give the illusion of freedom to fans. Maybe I can see how it would be useful and practical for like choosing a third kit design or choosing a team for a pre-season friendly but they absolutely will not be part of integral, important decisions. This concept should be a part of football anyway, trust inter to find a way to monetise loyalty when they’ve just broken promise after promise for the sake of money for the entire summer.

  4. Conning the fans after lieing to them, still fresh.
You will get some “loyal morons” to spend their money and the others laugh at them. Watch it flip-flop and get refunded 🚮

  5. It’ll be a bit like voting in the real world – they money men won’t let you vote for anything important, just the bland stuff that won’t affect their own pockets.

  6. All these negative comments about Inter ‘monetising’ fans are unfair. All football team monetise – constantly and shamelessly. It’s a very competitive business and to compete in today’s environment football clubs need reach, presence and to generate money. I don’t know what the fans get for 2 Euros but even if it’s access to events or cheaper tickets it’s OK. It’s like being a ‘socio’ or ‘member’ of the club. Of course you are not going to direct transfer policy – but if you want to do that invest 200 million Euros. Then you’ll get a bigger say. Football has always been about money. The ‘golden era’ of Serie A was much more sordid than now – with corrupt Presidents spending lavish amounts before bankrupting the club. Think about what happened at Perugia, Parma, Lazio. Even Milan was reliant on one person’s whim. Were any of these modes of operating better than selling 2 euro tokens to supporters?

  7. Basically the fans have spent 2 million on thin air. There is no way in hell that paying 2 euros will give you access to “real” discounts or anything. Maybe if they need to shift some excess products you’ll be able to buy it at a discounted rate, which they would have probably done anyway, but now they have a targeted mailing list of 1 million people who will have a much higher likelihood of buying their stuff. And of course a 2 million stake won’t give you any real voting rights.

Anyway, it’s just 2 euros, not a big deal.

  8. Monetizing loyalty? are you kidding me? The club does not force the fans to spend that ludicrous amount of €2/token. This is way better and more creative than just increasing the ticket price in stadium, which is the easiest thing to do to squeeze every single penny from the fans.

This token provides ways for the fans to express their connection to the clubs, especially for those who live outside Italy or Europe. The fans who don’t spend any money for their beloved club and yet complain when the club are forced to sell their star players are naive or maybe just selfish.
