The Partenopei are looking to bring the striker in to replace Gonzalo Higuain, who will join Juventus in the coming days.

Following talks with the player’s entourage yesterday, it was reported that an increased offer of €45m plus bonuses was on the table for Icardi.

However, Sky reports that the Nerazzurri rejected the offer without even considering it, and sporting director Piero Ausilio has made it clear the forward is not for sale.

Napoli are now relying on the will of Icardi, who wants a better contract, to force the move through, as they are offering a far higher salary than the Beneamata.
