Inter are in pole position to sign Bologna’s Simone Verdi this summer, according to reports.

The Italian international rejected a move to Napoli in January, but hasn’t ruled-out a transfer ahead of the 2018-19 season.

While the Partenopei are still interested, as are Roma, this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are in advanced talks with Verdi’s entourage.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio is keen to secure his signature, and is confident of securing a deal with the player.

However, Bologna won’t let their star man go on the cheap and are demanding around €25m, a fee the Beneamata can’t spend until after June 30, thanks to Financial Fair Play restrictions.

Justin Kluivert of Ajax is also a target, with his contract expiring in 12 months, but there is competition from other big European clubs.

For the young winger to arrive, one of Ivan Perisic or Antonio Candreva would probably have to be sold.
