Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is apparently in early talks with Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah over a possible transfer.

The Nerazzurri are seen as looking for a quality offensive winger for the upcoming January transfer window and have been linked so far with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain's Ezequiel Lavezzi and Atletico Madrid's Alessio Cerci.

However the logistical and economical difficulties of signing either of those players are prompting Inter director Ausilio to consider alternatives.

One of those alternatives is increasingly seen as Chelsea’s 22-year-old forward Salah, who has found himself out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

Seen as available on the market, the Egyptian is believed to represent a realistic reinforcement on Inter's left wing, and one that Ausilio has reportedly begun talks with.

Fcinternews.it are running the line that the director has already made contact with the player’s entourage to better understand his current situation and that the response has been positive.

It is understood that all parties are open to a move and that Chelsea are ready to negotiate an initial loan deal with a purchase option included.

However, it is suggested that Inter may face competition on any mid-season bid from Napoli.
