Inter President Steven Zhang has admitted that he has started to dream of success in the Champions League final while speaking to the Sky Sports cameras at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.
Zhang said that he ‘wouldn’t have believed’ that Inter would go on to have such a successful campaign at the beginning of the season, with the Nerazzurri having won the Coppa Italia title as well as the upcoming final in the Champions League.
Inter have also now secured their place in the top four in Serie A, which had been a guarantee at various stages of the season.
Talking to the media at the historic circuit in Monte Carlo, Zhang said: “Am I thinking about our final? If you’d have asked me at the beginning of the season, I wouldn’t have believed it, now I’m really starting to imagine it. Finally, after yesterday’s victory, we can begin to prepare for it and we will do our very best.”
After rising to a 3-2 victory over Atalanta on Saturday, Inter have now picked up 10 wins from their last 11 matches across all competitions and have just one more game with Torino in the league before jetting off to Istanbul to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League final.
