Luis Muriel cannot seem to stop scoring at the moment, so Atalanta could consider a new contract, but Inter are also linked with a January offer.

The Colombia international is a veteran, yet still only 32 years of age and the all-time top scorer of goals off the bench in Serie A, so perfectly suited to the super-sub role.

His contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and he has hit excellent form with six goals in 18 games between Serie A and the Europa League, including a delightful back-heel flick winner in stoppages against Milan.

According to Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb, there are a few different scenarios open for Muriel.

Atalanta could consider offering him a new contract, although he might be frustrated at the lack of playing time, especially once Gianluca Scamacca and El Bilal Toure return from injury.

Another alternative is a January exit, as Inter need a striker to bolster their squad after Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic suffered repeated injury problems.

However, Atalanta are reticent to let players leave in January, even when their contracts are running down, and would ask for €5m.
