Inter have been working on a deal for Marcus Thuram for some time now and reportedly want to secure his signature before his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expires.
The Nerazzurri wanted to add the French striker to their squad back in August 2021 but turned to Joaquin Correa following Thuram’s knee ligament injury.
Talks between Inter and Thuram’s entourage did not stop and continued throughout the early months of this season, including at the World Cup in Qatar.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter have drawn up a contract for Thuram, taking advantage of the Growth Decree to offer him a salary of €10m gross per season, plus add-ons.
The Frenchman verbally accepted the offer but the Nerazzurri couldn’t agree a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach to sign him last month.
Following that green light, Inter are now hoping to secure Thuram’s signature on a pre-contract, wanting to avoid a possible repeat of the Gleison Bremer situation.
The Nerazzurri had agreed to the terms of a deal with the Brazilian defender in January 2022 but when the summer transfer window rolled around, they missed out to Juventus, a frustrating reality.
