Inter will meet with defender Milan Skriniar and his entourage today to begin the much-anticipated contract renewal talks.

The Nerazzurri cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen last night, a result that books their spot in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. Progressing to the knock-out stages has important economic ramifications for Inter and gives them a strong foundation to start their work renewing the contracts of various key players.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, the first meeting between Inter’s management and Skriniar’s entourage is scheduled for today. The club are confident that a new deal can be agreed but with less than 12 months left on the defender’s contract, things are starting to look tense.

Paris Saint-Germain are watching the situation closely, hoping to possibly complicate matters in January should an agreement not come by then. The French giants wanted to sign Skriniar in the summer but their offer failed to convince the Nerazzurri.
